The film contains some fantasy components and, though some may find the plot line weak, we’ll all love it for its food anyway. It’s based on a novel by Roald Dahl, and it is indeed so extremely acclaimed and deemed to be of high cultural worth that it has even been chosen by the United States National Film Registry for preservation.
